Timber flooring installation

Engineered timber flooring in Brisbane, done the right way for the room

Engineered timber gives you a real hardwood surface on a core that stays stable through Queensland humidity. We supply the boards and install them, glue down or floating, depending on your subfloor and how you want the floor to feel.

Glue down timber flooring

Boards bonded directly to a prepared concrete slab. Solid and quiet underfoot with no hollow sound, and the choice for most apartments and slab homes. It needs a flat, dry, primed slab, which is the part we take the most time over.

Floating timber flooring

Boards click or glue to each other over an acoustic underlay rather than to the subfloor. Faster to install, easier over an existing floor, and a good fit for upper levels and timber subfloors.

Species and looks

Engineered oak and European oak in pale, natural and smoked tones, plus Australian favourites: blackbutt engineered flooring and spotted gum engineered flooring. Wide boards, matte finishes, and herringbone if you want the pattern look.

Engineered timber is not solid hardwood, and that is the point

Solid hardwood is one thick piece of timber that moves with humidity and needs sanding and polishing on site. Engineered timber is a real timber wear layer over a layered core, so it arrives pre-finished, stays flatter, and can go over concrete. We install engineered timber only. We do not supply solid hardwood, and we do not sand and polish existing timber floors.

Why Prime Flooring Services

Quality product and workmanship, at an affordable price

Quality product

We supply boards we are happy to put our name on: stable cores, proper wear layers and finishes that hold up to Queensland heat, sun and humidity.

Quality workmanship

Glue-down timber is unforgiving: the slab has to be flat, dry and primed, and every board bedded properly. We do that prep ourselves rather than rushing to the fun part.

Affordable price

A lean local team with honest quotes. You get one price for supply and install, with no showroom mark-up and no surprises on the day.

Questions we get asked

Engineered timber questions, answered straight

Engineered timber vs solid timber, what is the difference?

Solid timber is one piece of hardwood, usually laid raw and then sanded and polished on site. Engineered timber is a real timber top layer over a stable core, pre-finished in the factory. It handles humidity better, can be glued to concrete, and you walk on it the day it is laid. We install engineered timber only.

Glue down or floating, which should I choose?

Glue down feels the most solid and quiet, and suits concrete slabs and apartments. Floating is quicker, works over existing floors and timber subfloors, and is usually a little cheaper on labour. We recommend at the measure once we have seen your subfloor.

What does engineered timber flooring cost?

It depends on the species, the board width and the install method, and on how much subfloor prep the slab needs. Engineered timber is the top of our range, and you get one clear supply and install price after a free in-home measure.

How long does a timber flooring installation take?

A typical living area is one to two days. Glue-down installs take longer than floating because the slab prep and adhesive cure time matter. We give you a firm timeframe with the quote.

How does engineered timber compare to hybrid?

Engineered timber is real wood: warmer, richer, and it can be re-coated down the track. Hybrid is a printed stone-composite plank: fully waterproof, harder to dent, and cheaper. For a wet area or a house full of kids and dogs, hybrid wins. For the look and feel, timber wins.

Is there a warranty?

Yes. Every floor we install comes with a 25-year warranty. At the measure Sirojiddin walks you through exactly what it covers, so you know where you stand before you commit.
